Lydia MONNEL was born on June 13, 1941 in Grande Rivière, Martinique. She is the eldest of 13 children: 4 girls and 9 boys. The most distant memory that comes back to her is that she had to get up at 5 a.m. to go and draw water from the well, she carried 3 buckets: one on her head and one in each arm.dans chaque bras.

She was working at Telecom when her son Micka died in a tragic car accident in 1993. She was unable to return to work. On the other hand, she started to paint, and since then, she can not stop. She is a great example for those who have been broken from within, who have managed to rise again, and who use the flame of their anger to create and give positive direction to their lives
